Honduras Flag Coloring Page

The flag of Honduras has three horizontal bands with five stars set across the middle one. The outer bands stand for the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, since Honduras has a coastline on both. The white band between them stands for the land and for peace. The five stars are the part that makes this flag Honduran. They represent the five countries that once made up the Federal Republic of Central America: Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. They were added in 1866 and arranged in an X shape across the white band. El Salvador and Nicaragua fly similar three-band flags, but both carry a coat of arms in the centre. The Honduran flag carries the five stars and nothing else. One thing to know before you start: the exact shade of blue has changed more than once over the years, and Hondurans still discuss which one is correct. Use whichever blue you prefer on your Honduras flag coloring page. There is no single right answer.

The stars are small and sit in an X in the middle of the white band, so save them for last with a fine tip. Start by filling the top and bottom blue bands with long horizontal strokes to make sure the middle stays empty until the stars go in.
