Print this free Costa Rica flag coloring page, then colour the blue and white with a red centre using the guide below. The Costa Rican flag was adopted in 1848.
A red band runs across the very middle of the flag twice as wide as each of the other four. The blue and white bands above and below it come from the old flag of the Federal Republic of Central America. The red stripe was added in 1848 at the suggestion of Pacífica Fernández Oreamuno, the wife of the president and an admirer of the French revolution of that year.
Start with the top and bottom blue bands using long horizontal strokes, then leave the two white bands empty and colour the red centre. The red centre band is twice as wide as the others, so give it your longest, steadiest strokes.
