The Eagle of Saladin sits in gold at the centre of the white band, the national emblem of Egypt. Red stands for the blood of those who fought against colonisation, white for the purity of the Egyptian heart, and black for the darkness that was overcome. The flag in its current form was adopted on 4 October 1984.
Colour the top red band and the bottom black band first with long horizontal strokes, then leave the white centre empty around the eagle. The Eagle of Saladin is detailed in gold, so save that part for last and use a fine tip.
