A white disc sits in the middle of a plain red field, and inside it a red crescent wraps around a red five-pointed star. The flag was officially approved in 1831, though its design was first created by the Bey of Tunis, Hussein II, after the Battle of Navarino on 20 October 1827. It has flown over the country ever since, through the French protectorate and into independence.
Colour the red field first with broad even strokes, then leave the white disc empty. The crescent and star inside the disc are both red, so add them carefully with a fine tip, keeping the star to the right of the crescent.
