Italy Flag Coloring Page

Three equal vertical bands of green, white and red were adopted as the national flag in 1946 after Italy became a republic. The colours first appeared in the flag of the Cisalpine Republic in 1797, inspired by the French tricolour of revolution, and became the banner of the unification movement in the nineteenth century. Green is often read as the countryside and hope, white as the snow on the Alps, and red as the blood of the wars for independence.

Colour the green band at the hoist first with vertical strokes, then leave the white centre band empty, and finish with the red band at the fly. All three bands are the same width, so keep the edges neat.
